Nick Bostrom Ph.D.
Nick Bostrom Ph.D. is a philosopher at Oxford University, and the Director of the Oxford Future of Humanity Institute. He co-founded Humanity+ (WTA) in 1998 and is a frequent spokesperson and commentator in the media. He has been a consultant for the Central Intelligence Agency (Washington, DC), and for the European Commission and the European Group on Ethics (Brussels). Dr. Bostrom’s research interests include the philosophy of science, probability theory, and the ethical and strategic implications of anticipated technologies. He has a background in cosmology, computational neuroscience, mathematical logic, philosophy, and artificial intelligence, and is the author of the book Anthropic Bias: Observation Selection Effects in Science and Philosophy (Routledge, New York, 2002).

James Hughes Ph.D.
James Hughes is a bioethicist and sociologist teaching and working at Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut. He serves as the Executive Director of the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies and produces the IEET's syndicated weekly radio program and podcast Changesurfer Radio. He is the author of Citizen Cyborg: Why Democratic Societies Must Respond to the Redesigned Human of the Future. He is a Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science, and a member of the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities and the Working Group on Ethics and Technology at Yale University. Dr. Hughes speaks on medical ethics, health care policy and future studies worldwide, and appears often radio and television.

Ben Goertzel
Ben Goertzel (goertzel.org) is founder and CEO of two computer science firms Novamente LLC (novamente.net) and Biomind LLC (biomind.com), and of the non-profit AGIRI (Artificial General Intelligence Research Institute). He has served as a university faculty in several departments of mathematics, computer science and cognitive science, in the US, Australia and New Zealand. He is author of two books focused on the future of technology and society Creating Internet Intelligence (Plenum, 2001) and The Path to Posthumanity (Academica, 2006). He serves as Director of Research for the Singularity Institute for AI.

Michael Anissimov is a science writer, transhumanist activist and frequent public speaker on futurism living in San Francisco. He writes a popular blog on futurist issues, Accelerating Future. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2001 with a Bachelor in Accounting and has worked in public accounting for the past seven years.
