The WTA is incorporated in the U.S. as a 501c3 nonprofit organization and donations are tax-deductible for U.S. citizens.
In February 2007, the World Transhumanist Association adopted an ethical fundraising and financial accountability code as its policy. In so doing, current and future members of the Board of Directors commit to being responsible custodians of donated funds, to exercise due care concerning the governance of fundraising and financial reporting, and to ensure to the best of their ability that the organization adheres to the provisions of this code. Prospective donors are encouraged to download and read a copy of the code to be informed of their rights.

Why Support Transhumanism?
Because transhumanism is the best approach to the most important issues of our time. It is our mission to ensure that transhumanist values, views, and visions get a fair hearing in the world. Opportunities for eliminating aging, increase cognitive functioning, and enhance emotional well-being are within reach in the coming decades. With the right vision and courage, these almost unfathomable benefits can be developed, and made widely available to humans around the globe, in ways that are ethically responsible and that respect personal autonomy and individuals' right to self-determination. Well-funded bioconservative groups are working to prevent this from happening. The public at large, policy-makers, and heads of research funding institutions are often unaware of transhumanist ideas and the compelling case for promoting with human enhancement technologies. Transhumanism connects the dots and offers careful arguments and positive visions of how emerging technological capacities can be used to fundamentally transform the human condition for the better.By engaging the public, academics, policy-makers, and other potential allies in a dialogue about these prospects, we can shift law, policy, funding, and popular attitudes in a direction that make it possible to realize the dream of making it possible for all persons to lead lives that are better than well.
Why We Need Your Support Now
Transhumanist issues are becoming increasingly prominent in the media and in academic and policy circles. So far, the WTA has been expanding thanks to the efforts of volunteers, who donate their time to organize conferences, manage our membership files, write articles, arrange discussion groups, update the website, represent the organization at various venues, publish the journal, and so on and so forth.We have now reached a size where we need to hire administrative staff in order to continue to develop and to enable us to seize the opportunities for explosive growth that we see emerging. We desperately need funding for these core functions. If you help us leverage our large pool of volunteers by funding for our core administrative function, your contribution is guaranteed to have a vast multiplier effect.
