Help Give Everyone the Chance to
be Better Than Well

Let me tell you about some of the ways you can get involved:

FIRST join the WTA as a Basic, Supporting or Sustaining Member

SECOND, contribute news and opinion pieces, reflecting on transhumanist concerns in your region or country, either in our opinion-piece member blog Transhumanity, or in our member and chapter news blog.

THIRD, write about transhumanism for the popular, non-transhumanist press. Develop relationships with local journalists. Start a column in your local paper. Start your own blog or radio show or cable TV show.

FOURTH, get involved in or organize a local chapter. There are many possible activities for local groups, from purely social gatherings to study groups and speaker series. All local chapters are autonomous, except insofar as we recognize and cooperate with you.

FIFTH, sign up for the appropriate mailing lists, in your region, based on interest (arts, law, etc.), and participate in our online communities.

SIXTH, we have a new list for transhumanist activism, "wta-act". This new list will be moderated by Portland Oregon WTAer Tom Fitzgerald on behalf of the WTA Board, and will be focused on current issues which transhumanists feel strongly about and can help shape with letters, contributions, petitions, demonstrations and so on. List members can suggest actions to the list and some of these issues-cum-actions may be promoted in other ways by the WTA. Subscribe here: http://www.transhumanism.org/mailman/listinfo/wta-act

SEVENTH, volunteer to work on one of our program areas:

1. Campaign for the Rights of the Person
2. Campaign for Longer Better Lives
3. Campaign for a Future Friendly Culture

In each of these areas we need

- a grant locator and writer
- position papers outlining a transhumanist approach in each area
- assistant editors and contributors for special issues of our publications on these topics
- networking with appropriate scholars and organizations
- speakers tours
- symposia
- education campaigns and distance learning courses

EIGHTH, there are probably two dozen ways that you can think of to build the transhumanist movement and contribute to the WTA that we haven't thought of yet. Send us your ideas and offers, or just go forth and start changing the world.

We aren't getting any younger. Yet.
