Submit
If you wish to write for Transhumanity, please use the publishing and editing interface. All members can use this interface to submit articles for publication, and to further edit their own articles before publication. Submissions entered via the online forms are already in a format and style suitable for publication, which saves a lot of editorial time. All submissions will be reviewed by editors and published soon if appropriate. Alternatively, you may send your submission to the email given on the "About" page, but in this case publication can take much more time.
Please always use the "Title", "Summary" and "Body" fields. The "Summary" field will appear in the Transhumanity RSS feed, and the "Body" field should contain the main text, which is sufficient for very short articles and news items. The "Extended text" field is optional, please use it if your article is longer than about twenty lines of text. You can use html tags in the "Body" and "Extended Text" fields. If you are using html code, please set "Formatting" to "None". Otherwise, please leave the defaults and the system will do its best (usually good enough) to convert your text to html.
Some voting members of Humanity Plus are given direct posting right, and can post articles to Transhumanity without approval. If you are a voting member of Humanity Plus, and wish to be given direct posting right, please contact us at the email given on the "About" page.
The Transhumanity editorial team is always looking for new authors and:
Full articles - A full article is the output of serious research or review work. It should be well written, of sufficient length for a comprehensive analysis, and if appropriate it should have references, graphics, pictures, etc. Articles go through a light peer review procedure before being submitted for final acceptance. Depending on the nature of the subject treated, the review procedure can range from simple approval by a contributing editor to acceptance by an external expert.
Letters and short articles - Letter and short articles are halfway between a full article and a "casual" communication. Letters and short articles are approved by a contributing editor before being submitted for final acceptance. This is a suitable format for authors wishing to express their views on a topic of their choice and use Transhumanity as a diffusion vehicle and discussion forum.
Reviews - A review describes and analyses contents available elsewhere e.g. books, web sites, magazine and journal articles, movies, etc. Reviews are normally written by contributing editors, but material submitted by readers is considered for publication.
Interviews - An interview is a Q/A session with a person, not necessarily a declared transhumanist, on themes of transhumanist interest. Interviews are normally conducted by a contributing editor, but material submitted by readers is considered for publication. Plain text is a fine medium for an interview, but multimedia techniques implemented at a semi-professional level or higher are encouraged.
Fiction/Art - This is the place for original literary (e.g. short stories, poetry, etc.) and artistic (e.g. pictures, computer art, etc.) works. The quality of these works should be at least comparable to specialist literary/artistic media.
News - We try to identify the VERY important news from a transhumanist perspective. We also try to identify the best articles on transhumanist themes appeared elsewhere. News are actively gathered by contributing editors and news submitted by readers are considered for publication.
